Duration: 14 days

The Great British Sailing Tour is a full circumnavigation of Britain under sail.

Join for two weeks on your chosen bit of the coast (or more!) for a fantastic mix of sailing, training and exploring ashore.

In 2021 three identical yachts will be adventure sailing together, there’s endless fun to be had and the Tour is also raising money for the Michaela School Sailing Project and helping inner city children experience the joys of sailing. Be part of this incredible event in 2021!

You could choose to sail the wild islands of Scotland’s western coast, navigate down the Thames to the heart of London, take part in the Round the Island Race, explore Dartmouth and the Scillies or sail into the great cities of the west coast such as Bristol, Liverpool and Belfast.

Who is this trip for?

AGE & EXPERIENCE

These adventure sailing holidays are open to everyone aged 18 years and over. If you are aged 70 or over, or have any concerns about your health, we ask that you get a doctor’s note before booking. This is just to make as certain as possible that you will be okay out on the water.

CLOTHING & EQUIPMENT

We provide the foul weather clothing, life-jackets and all other technical equipment you will need. You need to bring a sleeping bag and some waterproof boots.

Additional notes

PLEASE NOTE

Covid-19
All crew must produce a negative Covid-19 test result within 72 hours before the start date.

Deposit
This is non-refundable. On making payment, your berth is guaranteed.

Paying the balance
The balance of the invoice can be paid at any time. It must be received by the organiser 3 90 days before the trip start date or your place will automatically be cancelled. They will remind you of the date nearer the time.

Cancellations and moving trips
These expedition sailing yachts only have between 7 and 10 berths on them. When you book, you are committing to take one of these places. Due to these very limited numbers, the organiser will often have turned away someone else who would have liked the berth. Unlike many other holidays, please understand this gives them little if any flexibility to make changes or to move trips. They will always endeavour to assist you (& the earlier you tell us the better), but unless they can find someone else to take your place, they usually cannot move your booking.

Tour operator

We love this sailing company’s ethos – to help people do three things: sail, train and explore. They are passionate about enabling people to experience life out on the open ocean, building sailing skills and exploring some beautiful countries. After years of training people to become professional sailors, and having covered thousands of miles between them, the company Founders realised that so many people had dreamt of setting off across an ocean, but hadn’t the skills, the boat or crew to make those dreams come true.

The company now runs expeditions on a specialised 60’ yacht to some of the most exciting places out there – often largely inaccessible from land. With no previous sailing experience required, the two instructors will guide you every step of the way as you develop your sailing skills, maybe even earning an RYA qualification during the week. Exploring on land as they go is just as important and the bikes and a kayak mean you can head off and enjoy everything there is to see along the route.
