Hike lush trails on Mt Vogel, go mountain biking alongside the Radovna River in Triglav National Park and hold on to your helmets on a rafting trip on the Sava Dolinka. Along with all this adventure, there’s plenty of free time to discover this spectacular part of Slovenia for yourself.
Join this active Slovenia adventure to bike through Triglav National Park, hike Mt Vogel, raft on the Sava Dolinka, and explore Lake Bled.
Contrast the active adventure with plenty of free time to explore at your own pace and relax. Slovenia’s green and lush landscapes looks like something out of a fairy tale and you’ll love getting to know this small corner of the world.
- Explore Bled, an adventurers paradise on the edge of the Julian Alps
- Raft the rugged rapids of the Sava Dolinka River
- Enjoy the spectacular views from Mt Vogel
- Explore the underground canyon of Škocjan Caves
- Chill out at Ziva Wellness Centre
- Visit Old Bled Castle, set 100 metres above the town and built in the 11thcentury

Base camp for this Slovenia Adventure is Bled. It’s about 35km north of Ljubljana and is the perfect representation of this idyllic country. Although Slovenia is small, it’s often called Europe in Miniature because of its diversity. When you see the Julian Alps, you’ll be reminded of Switzerland, and the coastline will remind you of the Mediterranean.
The breathtaking vistas begin straight away. You’ll take a cable car to the top of Mt Vogel in Triglav National Park. At 1500 metres the hike is one incredible view after another. If the weather permits, the group may head for the Šija peak. This entire day is influenced by the presence of Lake Bohini – the village, church, and bridge are completely charming.
The rafting portion of the trip is led by a professional river guide who will lead you through pools, gates, and rapids. The Sava Dolinka cuts across all of Slovenia giving you a chance to see Alpine forests, moss covered boulders, and cypress trees. The river is graded 2 to 3 in difficulty.
In Piran, explore the underground canyon of Škocjan Caves. Carved over time by the Reka River, the caves really help to create the atmosphere of medieval Piran. Situated on the Slovenian coastline (and once well known as a pirate stronghold), Piran is as photogenic as they come. Kayah, explore, feast on great food, and soak up the Venetian ambiance.
Wrap up the trip with a mountain bike adventure in Triglav National Park. Choose the route along the Radovna River to the village of Zgornja Radovna or the more elevated route to Srednja Vas and Lipnica. No matter the route, you’ll be riding through beautiful national forest. The reward for all your adventuring is a three hour luxury afternoon at Ziva Wellness Centre.
The activities on this active Slovenia adventure are mostly moderate, but an average level of fitness is needed to really enjoy the trip. Enquire now for full details.

The mountainous backdrop, stunning lake, and impressive cliff-top fortress all combine to make Bled a wonderful place to visit and a delight of Slovenia.
