Cross the Drake Passage and explore three of the wildest places left on Earth.
This is one of the world’s great expedition voyages.
Sailing from Puerto Williams, the southernmost town on Earth, you’ll embark on an extraordinary 39-night adventure through the Southern Ocean, crossing the legendary Drake Passage to Antarctica, exploring the wildlife-rich shores of South Georgia, and finishing in the remote Falkland Islands.
Unlike a conventional expedition cruise, this is a genuine sailing voyage aboard a beautifully restored historic vessel with a story of her own. Built in 1915 as a Dutch herring drifter, she spent decades working the North Sea before being lovingly transformed into an expedition sailing vessel. Following an extensive refit completed in 2021, she now combines traditional character with the capability and comfort needed for modern polar expeditions.
One of the things that makes this voyage so special is the scale. With space for just 12 guest crew, life onboard feels personal, collaborative and immersive. You’ll quickly get to know your fellow adventurers and become an active member of the crew, standing watch, steering, helping handle sails and participating in daily life at sea while navigating some of the most remote waters on the planet.
The rewards are immense. Towering glaciers, vast icebergs, whale encounters, enormous penguin colonies, elephant seals, albatrosses and some of the most dramatic landscapes on Earth await. The expedition also follows in the footsteps of legendary polar explorers, including Sir Ernest Shackleton, whose remarkable survival story remains woven into the history of South Georgia.
For many travellers, the vessel strikes a rare balance: large enough to safely undertake ambitious polar expeditions, yet small enough to access places that larger expedition ships cannot reach, creating a more intimate experience of Antarctica and the Southern Ocean.
For adventurous travellers, sailors, photographers and wildlife enthusiasts alike, few voyages can match the scale, remoteness and sense of achievement offered by this remarkable Southern Ocean expedition.

Accommodation
There are 6 cabins, each for 2 persons. The cabins are situated in the middle of the ship, which makes them as stable as possible.
Your bunk is inside one of the two person cabins. Your bed will be either the high or the lower bed of a bedbunk. All beds are over 80cm wide and 2 meters long. Each bed has a reading light for the evening hours.
The cabins are ensuite. In a wet cell you will find a shower, of course with hot and cold water, and a toilet, that when possible flushes with outside water. In the cabin itself you will find a fountain and mirror. Your clothing can be stored in closet and your bag or suitcase can be stored under the bed.

Tour operator
An old Herring drifter (Logger) built in 1915, the ship is 28 meters long over deck (38 meters overall) and takes 16 trainees on her voyages. No previous sailing experience is needed and experienced and new sailors love her equally.
A family of four professional sailors have owned and run this vessel since 2006 and sail her with true passion. Built for the North Sea she’s a fast sailor and her rigging is as traditional as it gets.
We love that the boat’s appearance is kept as traditional as possible yet combined with modern techniques and equipment. Everyone on board is part of the informal sail training program that is designed to get the best out of everyone whether you join for 2 days or a longer ocean crossing.
On September 13th she and her crew were the first traditional sailing ship to complete the North West Passage after Roald Admundsen with his ship Goya in 2013.
