Celebrate National Rum Day!
Original post: Another World Adventures
Great Britain is the land of whiskey and scotch, but for some reason we also have a National Rum Day.
At Another World Adventures we know that there’s nothing better than ending a day with a good refreshing drink. That said, we won’t be happy to drink just any old rum. We want to taste the good stuff directly in the land where it’s produced. So here for you are our best Caribbean and Central American adventure travel suggestions!
Experience Haitian hospitality and discover the stunning landscapes that this Caribbean island has to offer. This adventure travel is a mix of culture and sport activities, as you’ll visit the Citadelle – the largest fort in the Caribbean. Also, will attend a concert given by a voodoo priest, will be hosted by a local family, and have the chance to taste some authentic Haitian cuisine.
During your time there, you will also be involved in physical activities like hiking, swimming, and snorkelling. A boat trip is included as well, and if you’re lucky you’ll spot dolphins and whales.
If you have always dreamed of becoming an expert seafarer, this is the right challenge for you. You’ll be part of a crew for six months and learn how to sail in the amazing Caribbean waters, from island hopping sail to open ocean. You will also be involved in other water activities like swimming, snorkelling, and diving. You will touch countries like Cuba, British Virgin Islands, Bermuda Islands, and Panama. For sure you’ll taste some amazing rum along the way!
This pioneering travel will challenge you to cross the Darien Gap, a jungle that was once considered impenetrable. You will go in search of lost civilizations and 5,000 years old petroglyphs. The adventure author Hilary Bradt wrote about it: “a swampy wasteland crawling with venomous creatures ready at a moment’s notice to suck unsuspecting explorers into its oozing depths”. But don’t worry, our tour operator will constantly make sure that any step will be safe.
Discover beaches and cities of Cuba on two wheels, enjoying all the sun and fun the island has to offer. You will cycle through the countryside, seeing farms, plantations, and jungles. There you’ll experience the Cuban life in the countryside, visiting a crocodile farm and a coffee plantation. Your cycling adventure will also bring you to visit three amazing cities, Havana, Santiago, and Trinidad, so you really won’t miss anything.
