Sail Around the World – Sydney to Europe 2013/14

We are very happy to be taking bookings for people to join the second half of an epic circumnavigation by sail from Sydney back to Europe in 2013/14.

In 2013 and 2014 three historic tall ships and sail training vessels are retracing historic trade routes around the world. Intrepid travellers can join as voyage crew and experience a hands-on sail crossing of the planet’s great seas and oceans.

Voyages on board the Bark Europa, Oosterschelde and Tecla include crossing the South Pacific Ocean, exploration of Antarctica, coastal cruising up the South American coast stopping in the Falkland Islands, Argentina & Brazil and Trans-Atlantic crossing to Europe via Bermuda and Azores. The summer 2014 return of the ships times well with the Tall Ship Races & Regattas in England in the summer of 2014.

From gentle island hopping in Brazil to taking on infamous passages that turn landlubbers into ocean sailors such as Cape Horn and the Drake Passage – there is a voyage for everyone.

Setting off from Sydney Australia on the 9th October 2013 the voyage legs take between a week and 60 days so, call your boss and book that time off work immediately!

Sailing experience is not required and all nationalities and ages can participate. Individual travellers are very welcome as are couples and small groups. Expect to meet people of all ages from all walks of life. As one team you’ll sail to new horizons and experience all aspects of a sailor’s life on board: The wind, the sea, new friends and adventure.

The permanent crew explains everything about navigation, sail handling, square rig sailing and more as the voyage crew learn the language of the sea. The ships all sail 24 hours a day and at sea a watch system applies which means everyone takes turns on look-out.

We’re thrilled that we can help anyone with a thirst for adventure to realise their dream of sailing across an ocean or exploring a region as magnificent as Antarctica.

Another World Adventures was founded after we (Tori and Larissa) met on an epic crossing of the Atlantic Ocean on one of these ships, making it even more special.

We envisage iconic sails like Antarctica 2014 to book up very fast as this is an exceptionally unusual way to discover the continent – perfect for wildlife and nature lovers.

For those with a bit more time on their hands we’d say “take on an ocean …!” or for people travelling on longer career breaks use the crossings to get to another continent rather than taking a plane! Island hopping in Brazil in February would also make the perfect winter break for those with less time off work. The trip to Ilhe Grande island off the coast of Brazil being the perfect mix of land adventures – jungle hiking, snorkelling, beach time and coastal sailing.

Our aim at Another World Adventures is to handpick and create imaginative and inspired worldwide adventure challenges, pioneering expeditions, ‘trip of a lifetime’ sailing voyages and land based activity holidays.

We think these sailing expeditions offer just that!

They are perfect for people looking to enjoy the ‘journey’ of travel, or those looking for a more creative and adventurous way to get to and explore some unusual destinations whether they’re travelling alone or with friends.

One or more of the ships will journey to:

Australia – New Zealand – Patagonia (Argentina) – Antarctica – Falkland Islands – Argentina – Brazil – Bermuda – Azores – Holland – UK

For further information please contact us as we’d love to chat with you to find out what you’re looking for in a sail voyage so we can match you with the perfect ship and route.
