Overland adventure is one of our favourite things…

Getting from A to B without taking a plane is one of our favourite things at Another World Adventures. After all, Tori and Larissa met en route to Brazil from Europe – although technically not overlanding as they were on the ocean!

Still, we’ve done our fair share of moving long distances over land too having covered lots of miles in Australia, from London to Hong Kong (via Europe, Russia – Siberia, Mongolia, China and HK), across West Africa (Liberia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Senegal, Gambia and Sierra Leone), through New Zealand from Auckland to Queens Town, Thailand to Singapore and HUGE chunks of South America and the southern states of the USA and much of Europe. From buses to ponies, trains to yak carts we’re lushed out in 5* coaches and cried in the bus station that’s “closed. indefinitely” at 3am when you thought your bus was departing.

Having spent some time thinking about what makes for an unforgettable overland experience we’ve picked three of our favorites in Africa for the end of 2013 and into 2014 … will you have your bum on one of the seats?

1) The Classic – Cape Town to Victoria Falls
Days: 20

If you’re going “bucket list” this is surely up there in the top 10. Make your way through north from Cape Town, South Africa into Namibia, across into Botswana and up to the mighty Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
