Duration: 20 days
View Dates

A chance to join a crew of 10 to embark as a teammate in a transatlantic voyage during on a Challenge 67 during ARC 2026 starting in either France or the Canary Islands.

A chance to join the famous ARC rally in November 2026 on a 21m monohull Challenge 67!

For this crossing, a professional crew 2 sailors (skipper and mate) will be accompanied by 10 guest crew (that’s you!). Everyone on board has a role to play, sharing watch periods, about 8 hours per 24 hours, as well cooking, washing up and so on. Willingly, no pilot or furling are on board the sailing boats so it defines a “hands on” adventure! The best way to discover offshore sailing!

Two legs to cross the Atlantic : from Lorient to Las Palmas, then to Sainte Lucia

A two-stage transatlantic crossing that builds both skill and confidence, this voyage begins in Lorient, southern Brittany, before heading south to Las Palmas, and on across the Atlantic to Saint Lucia. The first leg (approx. 1,300 nautical miles) takes you through the Bay of Biscay in winter and down the Portuguese coast, where conditions can range from cold and demanding to fast and rewarding. Life on board is fully hands-on, with a three-watch system guiding sailing, navigation, cooking and daily routines—no autopilot, just proper offshore sailing.

After a stop in Las Palmas ahead of the ARC departure, the second stage follows the classic trade wind route west. Sailing alongside an international fleet, you’ll cross the Atlantic in around 20 days (weather dependent), adapting to shifting winds and ocean rhythms. This is not a passive experience—it’s a true bluewater passage and a rare opportunity to take part in one of sailing’s most iconic crossings.

Accommodation

Life on board these Challenge 67 yachts is designed for real offshore sailing—robust, practical and built to handle long passages in all conditions. Originally created for the BT Global Challenge, these 21m monohulls prioritise safety, teamwork and functionality over luxury, offering a true expedition-style living experience at sea.

Accommodation is arranged across a mix of shared cabins with double and triple bunks, sleeping up to 10 guests. Expect a sociable, close-quarters environment where space is used efficiently and everyone plays a part in daily life. There are two shared bathrooms with toilets and showers, and a central saloon that doubles as a dining, briefing and relaxation space.

The galley is fully equipped for offshore cooking, with meals prepared and shared as part of the onboard routine. This is hands-on living—think sea berths, personal kit stowed securely, and the rhythm of watch systems shaping each day.

While not about indulgence, the size and strength of the vessel offer reassurance and comfort offshore, making it an ideal platform for learning, building confidence, and experiencing life on a serious bluewater yacht.

Who is this trip for?

This is a hands-on ocean crossing for those ready to step beyond coastal sailing and into true offshore passage-making. Previous sailing experience is essential—you should already be comfortable on the water, understand the basics of sail handling, and have spent time aboard a yacht in a range of conditions.

It’s well suited to sailors looking to build serious miles, gain offshore confidence, and experience life on a large, capable ocean yacht. You’ll be part of a working crew from day one—standing watch, helming, trimming sails, navigating, cooking and maintaining the boat as part of a shared routine.

Expect long days, night watches, and changing conditions—from cold, testing weather early on to warmer trade wind sailing later in the voyage. This is not a passive experience. It’s for those who are motivated, resilient, and ready to contribute fully to the team.

If you’re looking to deepen your sailing skills and take on a defining bluewater challenge, this is exactly that.
