Journey into the heart of the Sahara in Algeria with experienced local guides
This unusual Algeria trip takes you into the very heart of the Sahara. Experiencing days of travel in some of the world’s most remote landscapes and meeting the people that live there.
The journey includes the labyrinthine Kasbah, spectacular mountainous roman ruins of Djemila – one of the greatest sets of roman remains in North Africa – Constantine and its 7 bridges, the oasis town of Djanet, desert camps, the Tadrart Rouge desert region, the stone forest at Tikoubaouine, El Oued, the serene desert ponds at Guelta of Essendilene, 7,000-year-old ancient rock engraving “la vache qui pleure” (the crying cow), and a traditional Tuareg tea ceremony.
