Another World Adventures

Tour du Mont Blanc Camping Trek

Duration: 15 days
View Dates

Walk the iconic alpine trail through Switzerland, Italy and France

Here is your opportunity to enjoy some of the most dramatic scenery in all of Europe. Divided into 10 days of trekking and three days of rest, this adventure is the perfect duration to fully appreciate Mont Blanc’s iconic circuit.

Your professional International Mountain Leader (IML) will guide you as you climb six passes, cross under huge glaciers, and visit picturesque villages surrounded by Alpine meadows.

Begin near Chamonix and hike to the spectacular Les Frasserands. You’ll also explore Col de Balme, Trient, Col de la Forclaz, Champex, La Fouly, Grand Col Ferret, and so much more. The rest days can be spent visiting nearby villages and spa towns, taking short day hikes, or relaxing at camp.

This camping trek is fully supported by vehicle. Which means you’ll be able to focus on the trek and all the nature surrounding you. The operators give it a difficulty rating of four out of 10. Each day of hiking involves up to ten hours of activity with ascents between 900 and 1200 metres. There are also a couple of metal ladders to ascend on day two, but your IML will be there to help you with every challenge.

Meals

14 breakfasts, 10 picnic lunches and 13 dinners are included in the trip.

Please be aware that, as this is a camping trek, cooking facilities are necessarily limited. Vegetarians: We do make an effort to cater for vegetarian diets but you should not expect the variety of food that you may have at home. In Europe most hotels and restaurants are not geared up to provide separate vegetarian menus, especially smaller establishments in the mountains. Vegetarians will usually find that there is little difficulty, as long as they are prepared to be reasonably flexible.

Tour operator

If you’re looking for a company with experience you can’t beat these guys. This operator started life in February 1974 when two friends got together to provide an overland truck to travel to the Minaret of Jam, deep in the heart of the Hindu Kush, the most inaccessible of the world’s great monuments.

For the company, and people who work for them “it’s all about adventure” which is what they were founded on and what they are still about today. Their trips take place all around the world where they help travelers to delve into local traditions, cultures, cuisine, lifestyles – anything that contributes to a country’ unique identity.

We love that their groups and guides travel courteously and respectfully, in smaller groups to minimise the impact, to ensure that every holiday is a beneficial experience for everyone involved.
