Happy New Year!

As the New Year creeps in around the world today we’ve set ourselves our first challenge for 2016. To share more exciting news and inspiring tales of adventure with you via new blog Adventure365.

We’re aiming for a blog a day in January to get us into the swing of things and we hope you enjoy reading them and that they inspire you to take a trip this year.

Since we launched Another World Adventures we’ve been overwhelmed by the interest and enthusiasm we’ve received from adventure seekers from every corner of the globe. The travellers who’ve found their dream adventure through the website are as diverse as the adventures they’ve chosen from ocean crossings, to wild walks, horse riding journeys and cycle adventures on every continent of the world.

When our enquiries inbox bleeps that another new message has arrived we’re always excited to read it. From grown up gap years to wedding anniversaries, career breaks, soul-searching missions, break ups, make ups, bucket lists and great escapes it seems there’s no end to your motivation to hit the road (or ocean) and do something extraordinary with your time off.

We’re calling 2016 the Year of Adventure because the trips our partners around the world have put together are truly next level experiences.

Here are six adventure travel ideas for the first half of 2016 inspired by historic world events just for you.

January 2016 – 50th Anniversary Indira Gandhi elected PM of India – mark this in 2016 with a Coast to Coast cycle adventure in Southern India

February 2016 – 15th Anniversary of Ellen MacArthur who became the youngest woman to sail around the world alone – make your own splash with a hands on sail adventure on the high seas by yacht or tall ship.

March 2016 – 100th Anniversary of Einstein publishing his theory of relativity which transformed theoretical physics and astronomy – celebrate this year by witnessing a total solar eclipse during a visit to the lesser-known parts of Indonesia

April 2016 – 25th Anniversary of the death of Graham Greene a prolific and celebrated writer who famously documented his journey by foot through West Africa in a book: Journey Without Maps – discover West Africa for yourself on an overland experience that’s far from the beaten track

May 2016 – It’s party time as Joanna Lumley the British actress celebrates her 70th birthday – while we’re sure she’ll be having an Absolutely Fabulous time it’s important to also highlight the wonderful work she’s done as a human rights activist particularly for Nepal, an incredible country that is waiting for your visit this year.

June 2016 – 30 Years ago this month the comedy film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was released in the USA – it’s inspired many a day out of the office! Ferris famously said “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” We couldn’t agree more – here are some adventure trips you can take in 2016 to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Happy travels!
