Why Southeast Asia is a Perfect Sailing Destination
Original post: Another World Adventures
In our experience, a lot of adventure travellers tend to eschew the common, the easy, and the predictable. Just like everyone, they love the tallest, the oldest, and the most beautiful destinations, but the urge to break from the crowd is a bit stronger.
This is one of the reasons that we love sailing adventures.
They are everything you want in an adventure getaway: unusual, physically challenging and invigorating with the chance to explore some of the most incredible and remote places on earth. Sailing trips are a great way to get off the ‘beaten path’ and discover a country in a different way.
Why we think Southeast Asia is a perfect sailing destination
This month we’re highlighting Southeast Asia as a perfect destination for sailing adventures. You’ll find gorgeous weather, tons of coastline, phenomenal food and wonderful remote islands. Add to this exciting diving sites, an abundance of exotic marine life, and sparkling blue ocean that calms your soul and you’ve got the recipe for a remarkable adventure holiday.
Southeast Asia has a plethora of small, unexplored, and often uninhabited islands that are perfect for exploring by boat. If your curiosity is peaked even just a little, we’ve got two trips in the coming months that we know you’ll love.
Southeast Asia sailing adventures
The first is a Thailand sailing adventure starting in Phuket. Spend seven days on the Andaman Sea swimming, snorkelling, exploring, and relaxing. Designed for those in need of a little TLC and R&R, you’ll absolutely love snorkelling in Ko Hong, enjoying the idyllic beaches of Ko Phi Phi Don, and rock climbing along sheer limestone cliffs around Phuket. Each night you’ll sit on the deck of your Catamaran yacht and star gaze, wondering how you’ll ever be able to leave.
If you want a destination that’s a bit more remote, check out this sailing adventure to Burma’s remote Myeik Archipelago. Spend nine days exploring this truly fascinating corner of the world as you sail to jungle forests, Stone Age historical sites, and some of the most pristine coastlines you’re ever likely to come across. As you navigate the 800 islands of the archipelago, you’ll snorkel with turtles in Ba Wei, trek across Kho Yinn Island, relax next to a campfire on Swinton Island, and enjoy cocktails on beautiful white sand beaches.
We know you’ll love stepping away from the ordinary when you take your next sailing adventure in Southeast Asia.
