A report in the Guardian newspaper included impressive growth in visitor numbers last year of 14% between January and April. Indeed, US travel to Cuba has surged 36% following improvements in diplomatic relations between the two countries and this is not set to slow down.

The results? Well, as with anywhere that finds itself under the spotlight of a tourist map there’s a rush to improve infrastructure and offerings for visitors but it can come at a cost as prices shoot up and reliable options go down.
