A chance to join a crew of 10 to embark on a sail adventure mainland to mainland transatlantic from New York City, USA to Lorient in France
In June 2026, an ocean adventure awaits. Aboard a Challenge 67, a 21-meter crewed monohull, you’ll cross the Atlantic from New York to Lorient, France—an unforgettable hands-on voyage.
The first stage heads to St. Pierre & Miquelon, a remote French archipelago just off the coast of Newfoundland. It’s France in North America—cobblestone streets, cafés, and a unique blend of French and maritime culture set against rugged, wind-swept landscapes. This 860nm leg takes 5–6 days, depending on weather, and offers a rare chance to step ashore in Europe’s last foothold in the western Atlantic. From there, the 2,150nm passage to Lorient lasts about 15 days, shaped by forecasts from a professional router. Yet the real drive comes from the crew, who keep the yacht sailing.
Ten guest sailors join two professional skippers, rotating 8-hour watches, cooking, cleaning, and facing the elements together. This is no cruise but an immersive offshore challenge requiring resilience and teamwork.
Built for the BT Global Challenge, the Challenge 67 carries no autopilot or furlers—just raw ocean sailing with cutter rig, genoa, staysail, and spinnaker. Safety is paramount, with limited communication (Iridium for emergencies only).
Practicalities include a French sailing license (arranged via the operator).
