Original post: Another World Adventures
The whole idea at #Adventure365 is that you could be adventuring everyday of the year … actually, this year we should really call it Adventure366 given the leap year!
With that in mind here are 8 amazing photos from 8 adventures you could be on this February!
- Highlands and Islands of the Philippines – an incredible 14 day adventure discovering emerald rice fields, smoldering volcanoes and colonial architecture in the Philippines. This photo is of the jaw-dropping rice terraves in Banaue. You’d also get to explore dozens of white sand beaches like El Nido and Palawan, take an adventurous 4WD journey across the rocky rivers and ash fields of Crow Valley, see the famous wood carvings at Ben Cab Museum and cool down in the Tappiyah waterfall.
- Get salt in your hair on a Caribbean sailing adventure in Martinique where you’ll join a hands on voyage (yes, you are the crew!) on a restored schooner built in 1918. You’ll sail through Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe Island’s untouched rainforest and national park enjoying a mix of hands on sailing and relaxing by a different beach each day! Stuff your face with delicious food and keep an eye out for the abundant marine life.
- Saddle up for an alternative experience in east Africa on an exciting cycle safari. February is a great month to explore this part of Tanzania and you’ll start in Arusha spending fourteen days wandering through some spectacular parts of Tanzania. Crossing banana and coffee plantations you’ll explore the Great Rift Valley, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti.
- Sailing on a 100 year old tall ship in Antarctica is defined as a trip of a lifetime. The voyages are a thrilling experience for bird lovers, photographers, artists, adventure seekers and nature lovers. Some people’s curiosity about Antarctica comes from the famous tales of the voyages of Ernest Shackleton and other expeditions. Others are fascinated by the rich wildlife or the beauty of the incredible unspoilt natural environment. Whatever your motivation, when you see the new dates announced you have to move fast as the voyages are fully booked up to 18 months in advance.
- From Geishas to Gion a visit to Japan is an adventure for all the senses and no trip could make the most of it more than a real food adventure. On this adventure you’ll divide your time between seeing Japan’s sights and scouting out the most prized eating and drinking spots. You’ll have vakitori sizzling in front of you while you sit along Shinjuku’s Memory Lane, bite into fresh-from-the-sea sashimi while at the stimulating Tsukiji Fish Market, take a truly hands on cooking class and learn to make soba noodles from scratch, and take on a sumo wrestler – in the eating department that is – with a fresh bowl of chanko nabe.
- Hit the road and make the most of West Africa’s sunny dry season with an epic journey through Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Liberia and Ghana. On any day in Feb you could be exploring culture, wildlife, beaches, tribal music, ceremonial dance, architecture, and even the most incredible vine bridges. This is 42 days of epic – designed for the adventurer who wants to see it all.
- February is the first month you can really start exploring West Greenland and what better way than on a dog sledding expedition with local mushers to the Icefjord. The Icefjord was declared a UNESCO world heritage in 2004. As you sled through the snowy and wild landscapes along the frozen sea encircling countless majestic icebergs, you will understand why.
- With lots of departures in February you could take your pick on where you could have been today during a three week ‘off the beaten track’ overland adventure from Cape Town to incredible Victoria Falls. Packed full of epic people and places you could be passing the day in the Namib Desert, with the Himba Tribe, exploring Etosha National Park or the Okavango Delta or celebrating reaching Victoria Falls by road having passed through South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe.
