The Best Wildlife Adventures of 2025
Original post: Another World Adventures

At Another World Adventures, we believe the heart of adventure lies in connecting with the wild corners of our planet – whether it’s witnessing whales breach in the open ocean, cycling alongside giraffes across the African plains, or marvelling at grizzlies in the Alaskan wilderness. These moments remind us just how extraordinary Earth’s ecosystems are.
But with that privilege comes responsibility. As adventurers, we have a duty to tread lightly and travel in ways that protect and preserve the natural world for generations to come. That’s why every journey we curate is carefully chosen with ethical travel and wildlife conservation in mind.
In this blog, we highlight the best wildlife adventures for 2025 – and share how you can experience them as a conscious, respectful, and ethical traveller.

How to be an ethical wildlife adventurer
At Another World Adventures, we carefully check every journey to ensure it supports the protection of wildlife and respects the places and people you visit. But ethical travel also depends on the decisions you make along the way. Here’s how you can ensure your next wildlife adventure is both responsible and rewarding:
Leave no trace – When visiting other places, it’s important to leave them the same or better than you find them. That means ensuring you’re disposing of waste properly, using reef-safe sunscreen and eco-friendly toiletries, eating local produce, staying on marked paths or trails, and not bringing single-use plastic into the area.
Travel with local experts – Local guides do more than enhance your experience – they help protect the places you explore. Their knowledge ensures you interact with wildlife respectfully, understand local customs, and travel in a culturally sensitive way. By choosing local operators, you also support the regional economy and gain access to deeper insights on seasonal patterns, conservation efforts, and hidden wildlife spots.

Support local conservation – Many of our tours collaborate with grassroots conservation organisations. You can further support these efforts by participating in citizen science initiatives like wildlife tracking or marine debris data collection. You can also ask your guide about local NGOs or research projects you can support with time, resources, or donations.
Keep your distance – Getting close to wildlife is one of the most extraordinary experiences we can have, but it’s important to do so in a way that allows animals to remain wild. Keep a safe and respectful distance and avoid touching or feeding animals, avoid flash photography and loud noises that can cause disturbance, and visit with a guide or tracker who can ensure respectful interactions.

Sustainable sailing – Sailing can offer a low-impact way to travel, but it still requires mindful choices – like planning routes to minimise flight emissions, sourcing gear sustainably, and contributing to oceanic wildlife data through citizen science. Cross the Atlantic from South Africa to the UK

Dates available: June and July 2025

Go overlanding in Alaska
Join this small group tour, exploring the Alaskan wilderness over 20 days for a chance to experience one of the most beautiful places in the world.
